Despite our company being called iron gate company our past work goes further than just gates and railings, as we mentioned in previous posts we have a wide variety of talent within our workforce one of which (the guy who makes our wooden gates) also has experience working for a large commercial body builders before he started working with wood
so when we were aproached with this project his previous and current experiences came together to produce this great looking reproduction truck body
this body is not suitable for real work this is purely a show piece
if this was going to be worked it really would need to be made from a hardwood but our customer wanted this purely as a show vehicle so elected to use scandinavian redwood and treat it with stain afterwards instead.
we created this post to show off what we can do and to show we are not scared by out of the ordinary commisions if you have anything you would like making dont hesitate to ask
we have added a quick photo gallery to show off the different views
here at the gate company we love to share jobs we done or are doing with you, especially the ones that are a little different we will add write ups on some of our jobs from time to time that we are proud of we will also add locations so if you are thinking of using us you may be able to find one near you that you could drive past and check out our workmanship. we will also add some helpful posts on subject we think you might like.... just search for guides

Opportunities available for retailers and tradesmen
In this post we are highlighting some opportunities available for retailers and tradesmen from the gate company
First for retailers
We are currently expanding our range from just gates and railings and as we introduce further ranges for all the seasons we would love to have other retailers on board to help us to get our brand out there.
We pride ourselves on bringing great quality at inexpensive prices.
We are currently looking for traditional bricks and mortor store owners, aswell as a limited number of ebay / Amazon resellers who would like to sell our products.
We are really interested in getting our products out into retailers such as garden centres and independent DIY stores.
We do not currently sell on these market places,as we progress our business forward we aim to produce higher volumes to improve effiency.
We are working very hard on building our own website up and increasing our brand awareness but this takes a lot of time and we feel that setting ourselves up on these market places will spread our time very thin.
If you are interested in stocking our items we will offer a great markup (subject to pre agreement) priority shipping direct to you or drop shipping direct to your customer (no upfront fees).
Our second opportunity is for tradesmen around the Uk. We are looking for skilled tradesmen that would like to be considered for our subcontractors network for installing gates and railings.
The right applicants would need valid insurance for working at customers properties have own transport and tools and the correct PPE to carry out work.
You will be required to carry out all work in a clean and professional manner.
for details please email email address
alternatively why not connect via google +

automated gates camberwell london SE5
As promised we are going to do write ups and add photos of past work
This job in baldwin cresent just off camberwell new road in London to this date consists of two jobs
we first went to the property to fit a single gate to side of the property to replace a wooden gate that was in a state of disrepair and could not be easily opened.
The above gate is our heavy grade london style gate which can be purchased by following this link
http://www.irongatecompany.co.uk/london-style-single-wrought-iron-gates-metal-gates/
Soon after we were asked to quote on a set of automated gates and railings to go around the front garden
which we installed around 4 months ago
The railings pictured are our Hereford style heavy and medium weight railings (heavy to the front and medium to the sides

The above automated gates are our london style heavy driveway gates
http://www.irongatecompany.co.uk/london-style-driveway-gates-metal-gates/
These railings were installed using a coredrill method where we drill a large bore hole into the top of the wall and cement the post into the wall although this is a more difficult way of installing we feel they look a lot better and worth the extra work involved
check out our other posts for details of how to install a railing in this way coming soon!
you may also notice that above the original gate there is a metal trellis this again was installed by us

wrought iron wall chandelier St. Marys church derby built by the famous architect A.M.H Pugin
Originally these wall chandeliers were going to be built by B. Rourkes an ironsmith that has completed works on Downing Street, and Liverpool Football Club but sadly they went into administration.
One of our contacts in the wrought iron supply industry aquired a lot of Rourkes components. Our contact was then contacted by the architect dealing with the works on St. Marys who passed our details on to him.
As a result, we have currently made the first of eight wall chandeliers which are currently being passed for approval from numerous societies and bodies that are involved in such a historical building
and we hope to have the go ahead within the new year.
In these pictures the items are not finished and are in unfinished metal. Once everything gets the final approval we hope to be able bring you pictures of them finished and finished in place within this magnificent church.....
It is truly an honor to have been able to work on this project and we look forward to finishing the rest of them.
We hope that in sharing the story of this job we have highlighted just what we are able to do and our passion for decorative ironwork. If you have anything that you would like producing, no matter how complicated, decorative or out of the ordinary it would be a pleasure to hear from you.

What does the gate company do ?
For our first post I thought I should talk about who we are and what we do so you could get to know a little about us personally and professionally.
First let me introduce my business "The gate company" or irongatecompany we are a gate manufacturing company based in Draycott in the moors, in the Staffordshire moorlands near Stoke on Trent however we carry out work all over the UK including Scotland, Wales, and Cornwall, and many of our work can be seen in London and surrounding areas.
we have even completed work in the south of France and Ireland see our other completed works posts for some examples
We are primarily a gate manufacturer, but with our diverse and knowledgeable Team we also carry out other jobs in metal and wood our past work has included replica vintage wooden lorry bodies, wooden decking installations, and one of our most prized pieces a wrought iron wall chandelier for the famous architect A W N Pugin's Church in derby which was the first church where he expressed his Gothic revival style St. Marys in derby. (for details see our post written all about this)
Our base is at Lower hill farm in Draycott accessible through Draycott plant nurseries
our workshop and display area is currently in use but undergoing a lot of improvements we hope to have our trade counter new offices and display up and running for the spring 2014 where we will hold a stock of some of our standard products such as planters, wooden fencing, and landscaping products that can be bought immediately in person or shipped same / next day.
We are also hoping to build a traditional forge, enabling us to further increase our bespoke service and produce truly beautiful one off custom designs in a traditional fashion.
so that covers our business what about the people behind the company?
read on to our next posts to see who we are what we have done and what we do now !
